Adolf Hitler and other Nazi leaders placed great importance on children and youth, developing policies and forming groups to indoctrinate them into the National Socialist movement. The best-known Nazi organisations for young people were the Hitlerjugend (‘Hitler Youth’) and the Bund Deutscher Mädel (‘League of German Girls’). These groups provided education in Nazi values and ideology, as well as socialisation and practical training.
